Join us for a Deep Democracy, Open Forum Style event
May 20th, 6p.m.-8p.m.
Women’s Building, San Francisco
Free of Charge
An Open Forum on Economy, Immigration, Class, the Environment, Language
and Their Effects on us Living Together in this City
This is an Open Forum, open to everyone interested and affected by these
questions. In the beginning of the evening, 3-4 speakers with diverse viewpoints
will speak for 5 minutes each. For the remainder of the evening, the
facilitation team will facilitate an open dialogue on these issues among those
present.
We use the Open Forum venue to bring together a diversity of people and points
of view. The forum provides a space where awareness of the deepest feelings can
be fostered to create direct non-violent exchanges. Using awareness in groups
allows us to discover ourselves, who we are as a city, who we are as a
community, and who we as a country. How shall we live together in the 21st
century, amidst economic, environmental, and social challenges? In our community
of differences of country of origin, class, race, and language, can we speak
about and address the challenges that we face? Can we address these together?
