We live in times of great suffering. Imperialism, genocide, gender oppression, ecocide, racism, war, and exploitation of beings remains the status quo. But we also see signs of hope for collective liberation: from courageous eruptions for justice to slow-simmering healing and transformation.
Rooted in the work of Vietnamese Zen teacher and activist Thich Nhat Hanh, Engaged Buddhism has developed into a diverse worldwide movement of Buddhists and dharma-friendly meditators. We seek to connect and collaborate with anyone applying spiritual insights to bring about material liberation.
Come and share your insights from your sanghas, spiritual communities, healing work, and justice work. The future of Engaged Buddhism is up to all of us.
This is a dana- or donation-based event, and no one will be turned away for lack of funds! For those who can give financially to support our work, $5 is the suggested donation to cover the costs of the event. If you can give $10, $15, or more, please do!
P.S. We are planning some surprises for this event, and need your help! If you’d like to be part of a secret mission relating to the theme of the evening, please email Katie at kloncke.bpf@gmail.com.
