PEACEFUL SUMMER SUBLET in BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY SETTING!!!

HI EBMC Community,

We have an open room at our lovely country abode for the month of June and possibly longer... read the sublet description below...

Peaceful Spring/Summer Sublet out in the Country (13 miles from Oakland/Briones Regional Park area)

Come join the growing community on Bear Oaks lane for a mont or more this summer. We have a cozy room available with a picture window view of rolling hills and the neighboring farm. We are three people living in one of the Bay Area's most beautiful country settings, in a spacious, light and clean home. Our home has a very spacious meditation room, fire place, hearth-like kitchen, piano, hot tub and stands on 2 acres of beautiful land. We have freshly planted garden, a horse barn and pasture, an outdoor kitchen, and even a swimming pool/jacuzzi. We live on the edge of Briones Regional Park and have access to 4000 acres of wild hiking and walking trails. From a hillside peak just a 15 minute hike from the house, you can access a 360 degree view of the Bay Area (all of the visible waterways, Mt. Tam, Mt. Diablo, etc). Two cats and a dog live here, and the humans get along like family (all of the love, minus the crazy). We value open communication, equal effort toward chores, and we try to be as responsible for our actions and personal experience as possible. But, we are human, so we do our best to support each other in our growth. If you want to stay with us for a while please look forward to honest conversations, loving connection, and sharing an occasional meal together. . . as long as you show up with an open mind and heart, pay your rent and do your chores, we have no other expectations of you.
This is a perfect setting for an artist who seeks some summer respite from the city, a traveler reintegrating into daily life, a spiritual seeker in search of a meditation refuge, a farmer interested in connecting with the rural areas of the east bay, or just regular guy or gal in need of a peaceful and temporary home on the outskirts of the urban center. We are likely to have some sort of potluck or musical gathering while you are here, as we are a social household, very connected to our diverse communities, so we hope you can join us in our merry making.
This home is also non-smoking and non-drug using. We drink alcohol only occasionally and very responsibly. We do not have a TV, nor are we TV watchers, but we do occasionally watch movies individually and together. We are often quiet around the house, we are respectful of each other's space, and we appreciate the differences that make each one of us who we are.
We have space for the summer, starting NOW! Rent is $700, plus about $100 for utilities (it may be less but we wont know until the time comes).

If this sounds interesting to you, please be in touch.

Growing Goodness, Cultivating Change
Relax and restore at the ArtSpa....ahhhhh!

Sunday June 2, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Indulge in creative exploration and expression at an indoor art retreat.

ArtSpa offers time and space for creativity in a peaceful, playful, supportive small
group.

June's ArtSpa celebrates the beginning of summer, season of expansive growth and
increasing light.

How do we grow the goodness that we desire in our lives? How do we cultivate the
change that we would like to see?

We'll bless pennies with our intentions, and plant them into soft soil, much like
tossing them into a wishing well. With these often-disregarded pieces of precious
copper, we will honor the incremental and gradual nature of growth and change.

We will use collage, recycled and natural materials to decorate the outside of our
plant pots with visions of what we would like to grow and harvest. All materials
are provided, including live plants such as fennel and oregano for sunny homes and
peace lilies for shadier spots.

Tasty, healthy snacks and tea are also served at the ArtSpa.

Group size is very limited, please register now to reserve your spot. Adults, teens
and preteens welcome, a great activity to do by yourself, with a friend or family
member.

ArtSpa is facilitated by registered art therapist and licensed marriage and family
therapist Eleanor Ruckman. I love helping people to connect to themselves and to
each other through the healing powers of creativity and the natural world.

Grand Avenue, Oakland location.

$90.
Payment plan is possible, please ask if needed.

Expanding Our Creativity: A Playful/Passionate Evocation
through Writing and Painting
A Day with Sandy Boucher and Barbara Kaufman
Saturday, June 15, 2013, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In Barbara's painting studio in San Francisco (accessible to BART)
Barbara and I continue to offer our interweaving of painting and writing, to awaken our senses, open up to our inner resources and our inherent beauty. Whether we begin with writing or painting, each medium leads us into a greater access to the other, prompting inspiration, and surprises.
It's great fun. You don't need to have any prior experience in either painting or writing in order to participate fully.
For location, fee and registration, google The Painting Studio San Francisco or call (415) 333-9515

Awakening Our Creativity Through Meditation and Writing
Two Days with Sandy Boucher
Saturday, June 22--Sunday June 23, 2013
In a beautiful yoga studio in Seattle, Washington
This is a weekend nonresidential retreat combining meditation and writing. We explore elements of Dharma, connecting them to our daily lives through writing, bringing our own experience to the great universal truths such as lovingkindness, equanimity, suffering and impermanence, and often arriving at new insights about our own lives and the lives of those with whom we share our writing.
	Women only.

Expanding Our Creativity: A Playful/Passionate Evocation
through Writing and Painting
A Day with Sandy Boucher and Barbara Kaufman
Saturday, June 15, 2013, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In Barbara’s painting studio in San Francisco (accessible to BART)
Barbara and I continue to offer our interweaving of painting and writing, to awaken our senses, open up to our inner resources and our inherent beauty. Whether we begin with writing or painting, each medium leads us into a greater access to the other, prompting inspiration, and surprises.
It’s great fun. You don’t need to have any prior experience in either painting or writing in order to participate fully.
For location, fee and registration, google The Painting Studio San Francisco or call (415) 333-9515

(Out of town–tell your friends in the Northwest)
Awakening Our Creativity Through Meditation and Writing
Two Days with Sandy Boucher
Saturday, June 22–Sunday June 23, 2013
In a beautiful yoga studio in Seattle, Washington
This is a weekend nonresidential retreat combining meditation and writing. We explore elements of Dharma, connecting them to our daily lives through writing, bringing our own experience to the great universal truths such as lovingkindness, equanimity, suffering and impermanence, and often arriving at new insights about our own lives and the lives of those with whom we share our writing.
Women only.
For Location, Fee and Registration, contact Janet Pliske. janet@seawell.net (206) 938-5204

Hello, please post in the housing section.

In search of housing in or near Berkeley/Oakland preferably, but would consider other areas, with other dharma divers. Single 51 year old woman, new to the Bay, looking to take root in this diverse community and would like to share housing with other open-hearted folks who are attempting to live unguarded, who value stillness and meaningful connection, who want to live with others in an honorable way. I am trained as a therapist, have lived both alone and in community, as well as with former partners. I eat whole foods, like to be close to nature, do not use drugs or alcohol. Can pay rent up to $700, and can offer some work exchange for rent as well. I am currently seeking work, and have savings and rental income to support my journey here. Feel free to contact me by phone or email:
